DIT Company Profile 

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the United Kingdom government department responsible for striking and extending trade
agreements between the UK and non-EU states, as well as for encouraging export, trade and foreign investment. 

The department helps British businesses export and grow into global markets. It also helps international companies set up and expand in the UK. Its services are provided in over 100 countries, operating from British embassies and other diplomatic offices throughout the world.  

DIT’s E-Exporting Programme helps UK retailers and brands export their products and services overseas through online channels. It empowers companies to place an international online strategy at the heart of their business. Through a variety of ways, the Programme is helping companies to be digitally visible in a world of internet consumers and B2B buyers. It provides free specialist ecommerce related export support, which includes the ollowing:


Regional Ecommerce Advisers who provide tailored one-to-one advice to companies on their online export plans and on how to build a successful cross-border ecommerce strategy  

Marketplace partnerships where formal relationships have been established with online platforms based on their geographical coverage of the world’s largest and fastest growing ecommerce markets 

The Selling Online Overseas (SOO)) tool which is a free to use digital marketplace finder service that helps companies identify and apply to sell on marketplaces where DIT has established partnerships  

Specially negotiated preferential rates for companies to list on a select number of marketplaces
