Information

Launched in 2020, the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol sets a new standard in more sustainably grown cotton. It provides the critical assurances needed to source U.S. cotton.

It’s the only system that provides quantifiable, verifiable goals and measurement to sustainable cotton production, driving continuous improvement in six key sustainability metrics. The program is also the world’s first sustainable cotton fiber to offer article-level supply chain transparency to all members.

Within its first year, the initiative amassed 560 brand and retailer, mill, and manufacturer members. It also became recognised by Textile Exchange and the Forum for the Future, part of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, and published in the ITC Standards Map.
